Dear Parents and Guardians,

By order of the PA Governor, child care centers in Pennsylvania are closed indefinitely as they are considered “non-life sustaining businesses”. Alphabet, Azbuka, and Sunshine Day Care Centers must adhere to the closure guidelines provided by state regulatory agencies. Please see the following information provided to us by the PA Office of Child Development and Early Learning:

Clarification of Closure Notices and Child Care

OCDEL has received numerous requests for clarification around the daily update provided by Governor Wolf and Secretary Levine related to COVID-19.

On March 19, 2020 the Governor announced the Closure of All Businesses That Are Not Life-Sustaining. Child care is not considered life-sustaining in general and should therefore remain closed until such time as the Governor lifts the closure mandate.

Until such time as Governor Wolf lifts the order, child care programs in Pennsylvania must remain closed unless they are granted a special waiver for site such as day care homes and those sites serving first responders and medical personnel.

Upon notice that the Governor’s March 19, 2020 order is to be lifted, all child care programs who closed during COVID-19 may be able to resume operations depending on the circumstances and whether any additional orders are issued or in place at that time.

Alphabet, Azbuka, and Sunshine Day Care Centers must remain closed until given permission by Governor Wolf to reopen care. We do not currently have a date for reopening. As soon as we are notified by state officials, we will alert families to that date. Until then, please stay home and stay safe!

As you may already be aware, Governor Wolf has ordered the temporary closure of all licensed child care centers in Bucks County during the COVID-19 outbreak.
Beginning Sunday March 15th, all Bucks County child care centers must cease operations for a period of 14 days at which time the situation will be assessed, and we will receive further information on a possible re-opening date or a continued closure. We will keep posting any information on this matter as we receive it.
Also, according to the Governor Wolf’s March 16th announcement, all Pennsylvania child care centers shall cease operations effective midnight March 16, 2020 for a period of 14 days so Azbuka day care center will be closed as well.
This is an unprecedented event that will require additional time to work out all the logistics, so we ask for your patience.
Try to stay healthy during this time and we hope to see all of you in 14 days!
